Our volunteers are what make the dog park successful. There are many ways to become involved: help with fundraising, become a park monitor, early morning poop patrols, and others.

The dogs of the Five Cities Dog Park Association have many good friends to thank for some recent volunteer improvements at our Elm Street Park in Arroyo Grande:

• Steve Strachan, owner of Central Coast Playgrounds, P.O. Box 2212, Orcutt, 93455 ccplaygrounds@aol.com, 934-1814, installed a new bench in the little dog area.


• Randall Cheetham, of Collegiate Air & Heating, P.O. Box 2673, Atascadero, 93423, Randall.cheetham@gmail.com, 286-6350, installed twelve new signs at the park.


• Association volunteer Lionel Senns ordered and delivered the bench to the park for installation; and Association volunteers Ernie Pardee and Jerry Moore assembled it.


• The San Luis Obispo County Builders Exchange and Santa Maria Valley Contractors Association helped us spread the word for skilled workers.
