Letters to the Editor
To the Editor:
Grover Beach’s Costa Bella Park still sits unused. To take one unofficial dog park away without replacing it with an official one is inhumane.
Other fenced off-leash dog parks are too far away — Santa Maria, 45 minutes; SLO, 25 minutes; Atascadero, 45 minutes; Nipomo, 20 minutes.
This should be a no-brainer, especially when tax-paying community volunteers are working and raising funds to make our dream a reality.
Mr. Big — our Pomeranian — and his canine pals deserve a place of their own nearby. Please help!
I wrote a similar letter in April 2006. The Arroyo Grande City Council knows our community needs a dog park, and has approved one at the west end of Elm Street Park. People who frequent dog parks will attest that they are safe, quiet, well-cared for places where people and pets enjoy one another’s company, and where fences keep animals and children out of harm’s way. We are waiting for permission to break ground, and hope to open before the end of summer.
Where’s the dog park?
